Community Service Initiative
I am very grateful for having opportunity to learn and organize activities for the children in orphanage. We as students always being occupied with assignments and daily routines which resulted in us often forgot that the smallest thing we do for the children can bring some love to them.
Through the activities and involvement with them for a day, I am happy to see that the elder one would take care of the younger and they are all very well behaved. I also realized that they are just similar as ordinary children required attention from others and having a chance to talk to them and play around with them would actually made their day.
They are very happy and optimistic children. Looking at their curiosity and interest in learning new knowledge really make us feel very proud of them.
There was a session that we gave them the card for them to write some notes for us and most of them actually expressing their feeling of being very happy for having us there and looking forward for us to pay another visit. The smile grew on their face and them being more close to us compared to the beginning of the event as we break the gap between us.
As the children in my group are mostly very shy looking at their changes to being more dare to approach us at the end of the activities makes me felt very satisfied. This one-day event brings reflection to me to be more concerned with the communities needs.
