Building Technology II

This module introduces us to a variety of drawings such as submission drawings as required by authorities, relevant by-laws; as well as technical drawings, to develop their design project technically in the course of the proper execution of a project. We also need to be familiar with the fundamental concepts of the different types and stages of working drawings in the construction industry, as well as the standard conventions and formats which apply for drawings.

Assignment 01

Building Plans / Fire Protection Plan

In a group of 5, we are required to produce full set of working drawings based on our selected group member's Architecture Design Studio 5 project. We need to have understanding of statutory requirements from the authorities and fire safety guidelines and to implement the requirements into the project and also have basic understanding of the structural system, building services, materials and other relevant technology and to apply the understanding into the project.

Assignment 02

Construction / Technical Drawing & Detailing

Integrated with the Architecture Design Project Studio 6, we need to demonstrate a working knowledge of construction, technology, materials, structural system and building services in preparing technical drawings for our individual final project. The functionality of spatial requirement in relation to by-laws and regulations, ergonomics, environmental concerns and other issues to ensure a good, healthy, safe and comfortable living environment for all users need to be considered and applied.
