Building Science II
This module introduces us to building acoustics in relation to building design and construction. We are exposed to day lighting strategies, permanent and supplementary artificial lighting of interior, various types of artificial light sources, and simple calculation to determine uniform lighting for interiors.
Assignment 01
Auditorium : A Case Study on Acoustic Design
In a group of 7, we choose MBPJ Auditorium as our case study building to analyse the building acoustics properties and reverberation time. We have to analyze the case study building from sound absorption materials, sound propagation and more. We are really grateful for given opportunity to visit Philharmonic Auditorium, KLCC during this assignment and been given information and briefing on the properties of a good auditorium design by our lecturer and the in-charge person.
Assignment 02
Lighting Design
This assignment is a studio integration project which require us to demonstrate understanding of the principles of lighting design. It will encompass on artificial and daylighting systems as well as implementing the PSALI design strategies. We are required to choose two significant spaces of our studio project to apply the theories.
